The Good Heart - the town's first pay-it-forward restaurant has today (July 20) re-opened with a fresh new look interior and plans to open for the first time in the evenings.

The cafe, which is almost exactly two years old, serves vegan meals, eat-in (safely distanced) or takeaway and is offering a free momo (a special Tibetan dumpling) for every customer during the first week back.

Owner Alison Murdoch told Frome Nub News: " We are really pleased to be re-opening, we have redecorated the whole place because we wanted to create somewhere with freshness and uplift ; somewhere to cheer people up because we think that is what people need at the moment. But it is also a peaceful environment."

The Good Heart operates on a pay it forward system.

Alison explained: " You don't pay for your meal, you pay for the next person. Everyone is invited to make a contribution, we tell you what it costs and then it means the next person can come in and if they haven't got any money then they eat for free."

The Good Earth has says Alison, given away hundreds of meals in this way over the past two years.

She added: "We are doing takeaway - with the eat-in very carefully distanced, nobody will be less than two metres apart and for the first time we are also trying out an early evening opening from 5pm until 7pm, Monday to Saturday."
