More jobs in Frome - a shortage of bar staff and cooks

We have spotted two more jobs in Frome in the windows of central stores.

They need staff at this bar - Brewed Boy and also a cook at the Market Place cafe.

The fish and chip and Chinese takeaway in Badcox Kingfisher has announced today (October 26) that it will not open this week due to staff shortages.

Other firms which are hiring in central Frome include Iceland, Holland and Barrett and WH Smith along with Asda. They are also looking for staff for the new B & Q Express store which is opening at station approach in Frome in early 2022.

According to the latest ONS numbers.

The number of job vacancies in July to September 2021 was a record high of 1,102,000 - an increase of 318,000 from its pre-pandemic January to March 2020 level; this was the second consecutive month the three-month average has risen over one million.

July to September 2021 saw continued growth across the majority of sectors with 12 of the 18 categories displaying a record number of vacancies; the largest quarterly increase was seen in wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, which was up 35,000 (32.4%)
