Frome Chamber has welcomed Pauline Davey as its new President along with three new committee members.

Beckington's Springmead School bursar Michael Mori, Andros UK Ltd Site Administration Manager Amanda Brown and online collectibles retailer Rebecca Preston of Legacy Antiques have joined the Chamber committee to help support its work and plan a wide programme of events for 2020.

They join current members Neil Howlett, of Harris and Harris Solicitors, Nigel Harris, of Burton Sweet Accountants, and Frome Town Council representative Cllr Andrew Palmer. Dennis Maps Managing Director Steve Burry has also returned to the committee.

Pauline, who works in PR and joined the committee in 2018, said: "We have a great range of business talent and expertise on the committee and we're busy planning a useful programme of business events for 2020. We already have some great topics and speakers lined up for our monthly free Discuss and Do sessions, which happen on the fourth Tuesday of the month, including using LinkedIn, employing your first member of staff and podcasting.

"We're also particularly excited about a Business Festival in October we are organising in partnership with Frome Town Council. This will showcase the talent that exists in Frome because there really is a huge array of businesses which are based in the town. We want to offer another way for businesses to network, find out who is working in our vibrant town and make new connections. The hope is this will generate opportunities to buy goods and services within the town, rather than looking outside for these. If we can get businesses/organisations to do business with fellow Frome based companies then that keeps money in the town, could potentially help businesses grow and lead to new and more jobs for the town.

"Our mission at the Chamber is to contribute to make Frome a better place to live, do business and grow. We try to create connections and provide a voice for business in discussions and actions with other businesses, organisations and local Government. Our membership is growing and we'd encourage all businesses in Frome to consider joining us in 2020. We have a great new Discount scheme which they will benefit from and our membership fees, which are between £20 to £90, offer extremely good value for money."
