New shop opens in Frome: We will be really here for community promises the owner

Just three days old and the newest shop to open in Frome is offering to adapt opening hours when the local community find them most useful.

With a huge smile and such personal service, we hope that the Great Western Community Store is a huge success for owner, manager and 16 hour a day shift working Nathan Bratheep.

Because the shop is so new they are still waiting for the Lottery and Paypoint machine, but it has pretty much everything else.

Like an old-fashioned corner store, it is the kind of open all hours shop that is so welcome for the large community around this area of Frome, opposite the station.

Nathan told Nub News: " We are open Monday to Saturday from 7am until ten in the night, and Sunday we plan to open nine o'clock in the morning until nine in the evening. So yes, long hours.

" Three days I really want to thank you to the community for supporting us so well. Fingers crossed it is getting there.

"Everyone has told us that they have wanted a shop here for a long time, they don't have any shops apart from the Texaco and Asda (which they need to drive to), Asda closes at at four o'clock*, so if after four o clock they need some milk or bread, they can come to us."

  • The garage on the Portway has contacted Nub News to say that they are open until 10pm on a Sunday.

You can find the Great Western Community Store at 56A Great Western Street, BA11 1FZ.
