This pharmacy in Frome - one of just two offered up as places to pick up Lateral Flow Tests - ran out yesterday (December 13).

The pharmacist told Nub News they used up the last of their stocks, 30 packets and have no idea when they might get any more.

They have three suppliers of the tests, which are recommended for regular testing for coronavirus ahead of visits to care homes and any social interactions - and none have any tests.

The Acorn Pharmacy on Locks Hill, admitted they have no idea when they might get new stocks in.

The pharmacy is just one of two offered by the NHS web site to pick up tests in Frome . Nub News does not know if the other one offered as a place to pick up tests, on Wessex Fields in Frome has any in stock.

Yesterday the NHS said that Lateral flow home test kits were unavailable online - but that the tests were available from pharmacies. According to The Guardian newspaper the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) said there was no shortage of lateral flow tests and that the government had enough stock to meet demand, adding the shortage represented a temporary pause due to increased demand and kits were still available to collect in person. Frome Nub News found that not to be the case. Meantime the Frome MP David Warburton has said the South West as a whole is under supplied for vaccination centres. In his latest column for Nub News HERE :

He wrote there are 431 locations to get the top-up jab in London and only 242 in the entire South West – an area with a population the size of Scotland.
