Persimmon Homes Wessex has received planning approval to develop 68 new homes on land off Elizabeth Way in Trowbridge.

The new site – allocated for development in the adopted Wiltshire Council Site Allocations Plan – will be accessed via a new entry on Elizabeth Way (the Hilperton Relief Road),

The scheme will see 20 of its homes transferred to a local housing association to address the urgent need for affordable housing in the area. The plans also include the provision of on-site open space and a children's play area, a cycling link connecting Middle Lane with Hilperton Road, and over £1 million in S106 contributions.

Commenting on the project's approval, Persimmon's Regional Managing Director, Julian Roper said: "We are pleased to have secured planning permission for a new 68-home site in Trowbridge.

"The commitment to sustainability, community benefit, and enhancing local biodiversity is at the heart of the scheme as it seeks to leave a positive and lasting legacy in the area.

"The plans will also see over £1 million allocated towards local infrastructure and environmental enhancements for the local community.

"We'd like to thank the local authority for their cooperation as we've worked together to provide a high-quality scheme and new homes for local people."
