The communications teams for Boots have confirmed that the local branch of the opticians arm of the company is not listed for closure.

The Boots' branch opticians is in Cheap Street in Frome.

In July the company announced that it would be cutting 4,000 jobs and closing 48 Boots Opticians stores.

It said at the time that it was 'taking decisive action to mitigate the significant impact that Covid-19 has had on the business'.

Now Nub News has been told that Frome - along with the branch of the opticians in Street - will NOT be part of the restructuring process.

Four thousand staff represents approximately seven per cent of the total Boots' workforce.
