There were a number of flights across Frome this afternoon (June 22), something Nub News has not been aware of for a few weeks.

This was in keeping with the flight tracking system Flight Radar24, which reported that today they tracked three times more aircraft in the European skies than two months ago - although this was only 55% of the number of aircraft compared to June 2019.

At one o'clock in the afternoon this time last year they counted 5300 aircraft in the skies, on 20 April ( so three weeks into lockdown) there were just 900 aircraft in the air. Today they reported there were 2900 airlines flying around lunchtime according to their tracking system.

Later in the day the system showed a number of private planes crossing the skies over Frome - one headed from Gloucester - while a commercial flight from London Heathrow was heading to JFK airport in New York.

You can follow nearly live reporting of planes and, sometimes, track their destinations, here: the Flight Radar 24 site:

the tracking site But be warned it is addictive.
