Olympians to host St Margaret’s Charity Clay shoot in Somerset
St Margaret's Hospice is hosting an exclusive clay pigeon shooting event, a quintessential British pastime, in partnership with some of Britain's finest shooting champions. And you're invited to join them!
British Shooting Olympians Steve Scott, Peter Wilson and Tim Kneale have thrown their support behind the St Margaret's Hospice Charity Clay Shoot, which aims to raise substantial funds for hospice care.
Meet British shooting Olympians on Thursday, 1 June to dust some clays in the spectacular grounds of Hazelgrove Preparatory School in the heart of the Somerset countryside. Aim, shoot and smash those clays to smithereens while rubbing shoulders with the country's best shooting Olympians to raise funds to help St Margaret's continue to support patients and their families across Somerset.
Tim Kneale, Ilminster-based Olympian, world record holder and Commonwealth silver medallist, said: "I am thrilled to be supporting this fantastic fundraising event for such an important local charity. Whether you shoot regularly or are a complete novice, the day has been designed to ensure everyone has an unforgettable shooting experience and, above all, it's an excellent opportunity to support your local hospice."
You will have the chance to bid on some amazing prizes at a live fundraising auction in aid of St Margaret's including a fascinating racing car factory tour, a delectable bespoke wine tasting and a one-on-one polo lesson from a former Captain of the England Polo Team.
And that's not all! At St Margaret's Charity Clay Shoot there will be an extra special twist as you will have the unique opportunity to bid for an Olympian to join your team. The clay shoot is open to all skill levels so whether you own your own gun or are a total novice, St Margaret's sharp shooting Olympians will help you to hit the target. Participants will be split into teams of four and partnered with an experienced instructor who will guide you throughout the day and give you shooting top tips.
Tickets for a team of four cost £1,000, individual tickets are also available. Tickets include cartridges, a variety of shooting stands and a delicious, locally sourced three-course lunch. The day will end with a prize presentation with awards for the Best Team, Best Shot and Best Novice - even more reason to place the highest bid for the Olympians to join your team.
Proudly sponsored by the Hellier Group, this is a truly unique opportunity to support your local hospice. All proceeds from this exclusive event will go directly towards helping St Margaret's support patients and their families across Somerset.
Tickets to this year's Charity Clay Shoot are limited so for more information and to book visit www.st-margarets-hospice.org.uk/clay-shoot-event.
