Openreach has announced that it's started building a new, ultrafast broadband network in the Frome exchange area.

This once-in-a-generation upgrade to Full Fibre, where a fibreoptic cable is run direct from the exchange into a home or business, will give access to some of the fastest, most reliable broadband anywhere in the UK.

Consumers can keep up to date with availability by checking their address on the fibre checker on the Openreach website, then when available, taking a service directly with a provider of their choice on the Openreach network.

Engineers are starting work this month and the build will reach the majority of local homes and businesses over the next 12-18 months.

Full Fibre broadband provides more reliable, resilient and future-proof connectivity; with fewer faults; more predictable, consistent speeds and enough capacity to easily meet growing data demands.
