Over in Wells, at the palace, they have some new arrivals.

The first cygnets hatched around 8am this morning (2nd May) and another has joined them this afternoon.

The palace is hoping for even more to add to those already in the nest, adding that it usually takes a full 24 hours for all the eggs to hatch.

The photos are by Moira, the Bishop's Palace official Swan Carer and Administrator.

The tradition of swans at Wells dates back to the 1850s.
