Somerset Council has submitted a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) proposing changes to parking and waiting restrictions on more than 30 roads across Glastonbury, Street, Wells, Frome, Evercreech, and Pilton.

The proposal includes new restrictions on stopping, waiting, loading, unloading, and on-street parking, which the council says are necessary to improve safety and traffic flow in affected areas.

According to the council's application, the changes aim to "avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising, or to preserve or improve amenities of the area through which the roads run."

If approved, the changes would affect the following locations:

  • Glastonbury – Beckery, Oriel Drive, Selwood Road, Whiting Road, Butt Close
  • Street – Clockhouse View, Grange Road/The Cross, Oxendale, Prince's Road, Stone Hill, West End, Overleigh, Ivythorn Road, Green Lane, Jubilee Road, Glaston Road
  • Frome – Justice Lane, Rodden Road, Beechwood Avenue, St John's Road, Roddenbury Close, The Butts (B3090), Tucker Close, Harris Close, Wesley Close, Marston Trading Estate (including Manor Road, Manor Way, Manor Furlong, Georges Ground, Handlemaker Road)
  • Evercreech – Victoria Square, Victoria Lane
  • Wells – Southover, South Street, The Cloisters, Wookey Hole Road
  • Pilton – Totterdown Lane, A361 Whitstone Hill
