When Pizza Hut shut up shop in Wessex Fields late last year it was not clear whether the premises, beneath the police station in Frome, would re-open.

But now Frome Nub News has confirmed that a new pizza branch will be opening at the site - but they are not sure when.

Dough and Co, which up until now have operated mainly in the eastern parts of the UK, have applied for an alcohol licence.

But it seems that the new company, which brands themselves as Fresh Woodfired pizza, Handmade With The Finest Fresh Ingredients, Made In A Real Oven With Real Chefs, thinks there is a profitable opportunity here.

Today (January 21) they confirmed that they will be moving into Frome, but they cannot give us a date.

The company, currently has branches in

Sudbury

Bishops Stortford

Halstead

Colchester

Bury St Edmunds

Ipswich

Huntingdon

Saffron Walden

and Thetford

and they have recently opened an operation in Swindon.

You can find out more about them HERE:

Frome Nub News will of course keep you up to date on when they plan on opening
