Planning applications this week : Four homes on land adjacent to The Retreat

Planning applications put into Mendip this week include:

An application to build four homes and a studio on land adjacent to the Retreat in Frome, at postcode BA11 5JU.

Planners were told that the land is currently vacant and once housed workshops, which have since been demolished. On the planning application that land is owned by Longleat Estates. The application can be seen on the Mendip planning site under application: 2020/0800/FUL . Three of the proposed four homes will back on to the River Frome.

There has been an application to build a single storey rear extension at 50 Croscombe Gardens in Frome BA11 2YF. This application is now open for comments.

And an application of a single storey rear extension, at

63 Alexandra Road Frome Somerset BA11 1LX.

The owners of 86 Selwood Road in Frome BA11 3BP have applied to build a summer house and store.

Applications granted this week include:

An application to build a three bedroomed house at Three Acres, on The Copse Frome Somerset BA11 2TE, has been given planning consent with conditions.

A split decision has been recorded on application for approval of details reserved by conditions 22 (partial

discharge/remediation), 24 (noise mitigation), 29 (provision for parking and turning), 32 (external lighting) on planning consent 2011/3124. This is for the on-going application at Church Farm Parkgate Lane in Rode. That is application 2019/2560/APP.

The original application is to build 44 homes at that location and to move the existing farm, along with developing space for agricultural and haulage supplies.
