There is a five day notice to fell an Oak tree at 5 Birch Walk in Frome.

Details under 2022/0374/FDN. Another five day notice application to fell five Ash Trees on land at Holes Lane in Mells, details under Ref. No: 2022/0477/FDN. You may be interested to know that the Lidl in Wells has put in an application to demolish the existing store and build a new, bigger shop on site which will now include the former Travis Perkins depot on Strawberry Way in Wells (Planning Portal ref: PP-11001434). Planning decisions made this week by Mendip include: Approved the planning application to build a single storey rear extension at 4 Swallow Drive in Frome. Approved, an application to convert a barn into single dwelling at land on the Frome to Radstock Road at Buckland Dinham, Ref. No: 2022/0040/FUL. The application on behalf of the Town Council to put solar panels on the roof of the Town Hall, has been approved. An application to replace first and second floor windows to the rear elevation and the addition of oak window boards at 3 Trinity Street in Frome, has been agreed. The Theobold Arms at Nunney Catch has successfully applied for a change of use and to convert of stone barns into a complete and private dwelling. The former pub which closed in 2002 is Grade II listed and was first noted in records in the seventeenth century. In case you missed it two other pubs close to Frome have shuttered up. The Brewery has put it up for sale, with locals hoping it will stay as a pub.

An application for internal refurbishments to existing farm buildings, extension to a swimming pool building, the installation of four new pods, and bigger car parking at Everards Farmhouse on Nedge Lane in Chewton Mendip, has been withdrawn.
