Planning news in and around Frome this week

In planning news this week.

Lloyds Bank on the corner of Cheap Street in Frome is improving its security. It has applied to put in two CCTV dome cameras to the front elevation of the bank. The application under Ref. No: 2020/1509/FUL is now open for comments.

The owners of 24 Butlers Gardens in Frome have applied to build a rear two storey extension and first floor side extension. The application at post code BA11 1LZ is under Ref. No: 2020/1508/HSE.

An application has been made to build a 1.8m high fence in the front garden of 9 Westwood Drive in Frome,BA11 4JR. The reference is : No: 2020/1345/HSE .

In Laverton the home at 4 Jubilee Terrace has applied to replace an existing joint septic tank with a Klargester Biotec treatment plant. The area is the Old School, under post code BA2 7QZ and the application Ref. No: 2020/1515/FUL is now open for comments.

In Buckland Dinham they have applied for a non-material amendment to permission 2017/2614/FUL to allow for a revised access arrangement at Cedar House. Details under Ref. No: 2020/1522/NMA.

And also in Buckland Dinham the owners of 1 Hill House on the High Street have applied to take 3m from the top of two yew trees. Open for comments under Reference : 2020/1523/TCA .

In planning decisions this week:

An application to demolish an existing side extension and construction of a new larger extension at Hapsford Farm on Elm Lane in Great Elm. has been approved with conditions.

An application to build a single storey rear extension, along with internal alterations, at 6 Orchard Close in Frome, has been approved with conditions.

The owners of Mendip House on Welshmill Road in Frome will be allowed to fell a decaying Norway Spruce and a

Cypress also suffering from a poor condition and replant with hedging. They have also been granted approval with conditions to replace velux windows in an annex with conservation windows.

The householders at 13 High Street in Rode have been granted approval to make internal and external alterations to their Grade II Listed dwelling - including the building of a single-storey glazed rear extension, conversion of garage to a car port and raising the height of an existing rubble stone boundary wall.

Planners have put no objection to an application to remove a hedgerow to enable the new main to be installed and enable construction machinery access at land at Windsbatch Lane in Oldford in Frome.
