In planning news which impacts Frome this week:

The debate about whether or not develop East Hill in Frome, a Mendip owned tract of land adjacent to the Frome Cemetry has been referred back.

At its 16th November meeting, the Mendip Scrutiny Board voted to refer the Affordable & Social Housing Programme back to Cabinet, largely due to concerns about the environmental impacts of development at Easthill and the lack of information supporting the decision. The proposals will be debated on November 26.

Meantime in other planning news this week, applications include:

Plans have been put in to Mendip to demolish an existing extension and replace/erection of a single storey extension and roofing works together with internal alterations at 12 Lower Street in Rode Frome BA11 6PU

Ref. No: 2020/2286/HSE .

The owners of 35 Innox Hill in Frome have applied to reduce the height of an Ash tree and lower a line of Beech (Ref. No: 2020/2368/TCA)

An application has been put in to reduce the height of a Magnolia at

The Old Bakehouse Market Place Nunney (Ref. No: 2020/2369/TCA )

Planning decisions this week include:

Approval with conditions granted to an expansion over the industrial park. The plans are to build a new industrial building connected to the existing building via a first-floor covered walkway, along with parking and access at Commerce Park on Imperial Way in Frome.

Permission has been granted to build a veranda on the front of the Clinic Millards Hill Trudoxhill , Frome at postcode BA11 5DW.

Approved with conditions given to the application to convert a garage into a home office at 1 Hill House High Street, Buckland Dinham.

Also approved with conditions, tree works at Phoenix House on Dommetts Lane in Frome.

Also approved with conditions an application to vary condition 2 of planning approval 2017/0600/FUL for the demolition of the existing garage and building a convenience store and a house at Crossway Garage on Anchor Road in Coleford.

An application to build a house at 70 Forest Road in Frome BA11 2TQ

Ref. No: 2020/0739/FUL, has been withdrawn.

Planners have ruled that an application for a certificate of lawful existing development for the use of buildings as offices at Bleets Farm on Feltham Hill in Frome is lawful.
