In planning news in and around Frome this week:

The Mendip planning department is looking at an application from owners of 5A Orchard Street Frome, who want to reduce the height of their Eucalyptus and Willow trees at the property. Details under

Ref. No: 2021/0612/TCA.

And the owners of 7 Wallbridge in Frome have applied to trim and lift the crown on their Yew. Comments open under Ref. No: 2021/0614/TCA

And at 48A Broadway Frome, which is a Conservation Area, they have applied to lift the crown and trim a Sycamore and False Acacia.

Ref. No: 2021/0606/TCA.

In Nunney, an application has been put in to amend the existing application for a two storey rear extension (Alterations to 2020/0651/HSE )

at The Bungalow on Church Street.

Planning decisions made this week by Mendip District Council include:

Approval for a single storey rear (north east elevation) extension at 17 Aspen Close in Frome. That is under Ref. No: 2021/0051/HSE.

They have approved an application for a single storey rear extension

at 5 Springfield in Norton St Philip Ref. No: 2021/0239/HSE .

They have approved an application for approval of details reserved by conditions 4 (Ducts, Pipes, Rainwater Goods) & 5 (Joinery Details) on Listed Building Consent 2020/2278/LBC for 24 Vicarage Street in Frome, Details of the full application under Ref. No: 2021/0165/APP. Householders want to put in a boiler flue , replace a rainwater pipe, replace some gable verge roof tiles with cloaking tiles, repoint small areas of stonework, and change the rear door to one made of hardwood.

Planners have approved (2021/0230/HSE) a loft conversion with rear 'L' shaped flat roof dormer at 12 Victoria Road in Frome.

Approved with conditions, an application (Ref. No: 2020/2560/HSE) to convert the roof space to habitable rooms, and add a dormer window to the rear and Velux to the front at 34 Nunney Road in Frome.
