Planning news in and around Frome this week:
There is a divided response to plans to an application to build a Communication Station at the junction of Manor Road and Grove Road in Frome - aka a 5G mast. The application is to build a 20m monopole, 12 no. antenna, 3 no. equipment cabinets, alongside the removal of the existing 17.5m monopole, 2 no. equipment cabinets. The application made on behalf of 3G can be seen under 2021/1952/FUL
As of October 26 there were already nine public objections to the plans. In other planning news - the community based alternative plans for the Saxonvale site in Frome have been validated. The plans were put into Mendip dated October 25. The title is a community-led masterplan and there are a total of eight specific design documents (along with other notices including who will be consulted as neighbours). The application is (under reference 2021/2373/OTA ) for outline planning permission with all matters reserved for the mixed use regeneration proposal comprising 182 dwellings (use class C3), a hotel (use class C1), commercial and community provision (use classes E, F1 and F2), primary school (use class F1), an outdoor lido (use class F2), public open space/parkland and associated infrastructure. building, with insufficient off-street parking provision within or near the site, leading to an unacceptable impact on highway safety."An application to replace an existing gas water heater/boiler with a combi boiler and the installation of a central heating system comprising five radiators distributed in main rooms of the ground floor and first floor (excluding second floor) at 60A Keyford in Frome, has been approved.
Also approved, a loft conversion with front and rear dormers at
5 Laburnum Close in Frome.
