A planning application has been submitted for Frome Town Football Club to build new changing rooms at Badgers Hill Football Ground.

If approved, the plans will see the "old" and "dilapidated" existing changing rooms demolished to make way for a "great quality building".

The new block would have both home and away changing rooms, a classroom, kitchen, physio room, referee changing room and offices.

"Until recently, the approach to management of the property at Badger's Hill football stadium has been to make repairs as and when they appeared to be necessary and as the limited resources of Frome Town AFC Limited (the Club) allowed," the application explained.

"There was no comprehensive condition survey and no detailed risk assessments in place to inform planning of future work.

"Frome Town Council's involvement has now enabled those assessments to be completed and there is clarity around the condition of the property.

"It is clear that not only are there immediate health and safety issues but also dilapidation and energy efficiency issues that will impact on occupation within the next one to three years."
