A planning application has been submitted to turn the former Repleo distribution centre in Frome into the town's first dedicated indoor climbing centre and children's play space.
The plans, from Charlotte Andrew of the Frome Boulder Rooms, are for the change of use from light industrial use to assembly and leisure at units 3 to 5 on the Wallbridge Mills Industrial Estate.
In her application, Ms Andrew said: "The proposed development would become Frome's first dedicated indoor climbing centre and childrens' play-space.
"We are applying to change the use of the current light industrial units to [assembly and leisure] in order to accommodate the project.
"The bulk of the space within the buildings will facilitate climbing and kids' indoor play space, we will also incorporate a small cafe, changing area, reception and seating area which will be open to the whole community.
"No structural alterations will be made to the buildings, either internally or externally."
The site is currently vacant after previous tenants left three months' prior to their lease ending in July.
The plans would also see the creation of two disabled parking spaces, and 10 bicycle spaces.
