A project to connect people and reclaim public spaces starts trialling this September in Frome

Lunch Bunch is a free, two-hour pop-up dining table where you bring your own lunch and sit with others. Crosswords, jigsaws, card and board games are all available, with prizes for the winners.

Jessica Francombe, who is facilitating the sessions said: "Late summer is the perfect time to get outdoors, chat to folk in town and do something different.

"So many of us spend lunch breaks scrolling on our phones or eat at a computer. It's much healthier to take a proper break, do something fun and connect with others. It's even a win for bosses as studies show workers are much more focused and productive after a proper break."

The project is not just for people on their lunch break from work. It is also a great reason to get out of the house on weekdays, especially for people without kids, or whose children have grown up or are in school.

Lunch Bunch runs every Wednesday in September from 12pm to 2pm, in different locations in the town centre.

The first one will be on 4 September outside Frome Library, followed by a one-off Saturday Lunch Bunch at Boyle Cross on 7 September. It is totally free, and you can stop by for five minutes or stay for the whole two hours.

Some light refreshments are provided, but please bring your own lunch.

For the full timetable, visit www.bit.ly/lunchbunch-frome or look out for our posters on noticeboards around town.

The trial is funded and supported by Frome-based company Terrestrial, who produce and commission arts and community projects across the south-west, and the Family Information Network Directory (FIND), an easy-to-use platform supporting a resilient town at findfrome.co.uk.
