Avon and Somerset Police issued an appeal on Thursday 30 May askling for help in identifying a woman in a CCTV image.

It related to an incident in which a 43-year-old man was assaulted in Palmer Street, Frome, on Sunday May 12 - an incident the police are treating as a potential hate crime.

A police spokesman said: "We received a significant response from the public with information about the woman's identity.

"We've now taken down the appeal and our investigation is progressing. Thanks to everyone who helped publicise or share the appeal."
