The Westway Co-op in Frome is closing up, the Post Office which operates from inside the shop has confirmed.

They are now looking for someone to take on the post office responsibilities. Since it is the biggest office and busiest in Frome in terms of volumes of post, it will need a reasonable large outlet to take it on.

A Post Office spokesperson, told Nub News today (February 25) : "The operator for Frome Post Office has recently resigned as the shop, where the branch is based, will be closing in June. We know how important a Post Office is to a community and the vacancy will soon be advertised on www.runapostoffice.co.uk."

The Post Office address for that branch is 7-9 West Way.

There is a Post Office on The Portway in Frome and at Rodden Road in The Spar, and there is a Royal Mail Delivery Office at Unit C, on Vallis Trading Estate.

It has been reported that Frome Town Council is aware of the closure, although they do not lease the building, which is owned privately. But they did not mention it at last night's Council Matters meeting.
