Film crews were back in Frome today getting ready for two days of filming of an ITV series.

Frome Nub News understands they will be filming the third series of the sumptuous Jane Austen adaptation Sanditon, which is also broadcast on the American channel PBS.

The series stars actor Crystal Clarke who plays Georgiana Lambe, keen to forge her own identity, gets up to mischief in the name of love — but will she run the risk of being lonelier than ever before ask the programme makers?

Stars who might also appear include, Anne Reid (Lady Denham), Kris Marshall (Tom Parker), Kate Ashfield (Mary Parker), Jack Fox (Sir Edward Denham), Charlotte Spencer (Esther Denham), Lily Sacofsky (Clara Brereton), Turlough Convery (Arthur Parker), Kevin Eldon (Mr. Hankins) and Adrian Scarborough (Dr. Fuchs).

Several of the production team behind the programme told Nub News that they had previously worked on Frome's Gentle Street's most famed backdrop, when it was used in an episode of mega-hit Poldark.

The costume drama starring Aiden Turner used cobbled Gentle Street in Frome back in December 2018, to represent 18th Century Truro.

Gentle Street, Church Steps and Vicarage Street car park will be closed to traffic from 07.00-19.00 today and also tomorrow and then November 18.
