The small fire was soon extinguished, using a fire extinguisher, but the flat remained heavily smoke logged, with a member of staff requiring an ambulance for smoke inhalation.

The flat was ventilated and area made safe before duty of care was left with staff. There were no further casualties and damage was minimal, confined to the kettle and hob only. These are the full and final details.
