Campaigners fighting a developer who plans to shut down a key river pathway in Frome have set up an exhibition showing what could be lost if the way is not protected.

The path beside the river between Wallbridge and Adderwell in Frome has been closed off by the developer, and now there is a campaign to have it recognised as a right of way.

Generations of Frome locals have used the way, and enjoyed the river and the water meadow, but it was not designated on the last Ordnance Survey map.

Les Stather of the Mendip and local Frome walking group told Nub News: " It is a footpath which has never been put on the map, but has been walked for over 20 years by locals and it is part of the river strategy for Frome. "

Les, who will be hosting at talk at the exhibition on Saturday September 5 at 2pm. " If you look at the pictures you can see how beautiful it is and how lucky to be able to walk around there. It is absolutely beautiful and so calming, anybody who goes walking down there will come out of there feeling so much better than when they went in."

The show is on at The Silk Mill this evening (September 4) and over the weekend Saturday and Sunday 11am until 4pm.

There is also amazing food on offer outside from the team at 42 Acres.
