Rail delays through Frome will continue even as strike ends
Rail travelers in Frome will face further delays and disruption, even as one of the operators serving the town's rail service ended its strike.
The town has trains operated by Great Western, which introduced a new timetable in the middle of December, those are not effected, but the other operator South Western Trains is warning of delays.
SWT staff have been on strike, a walk out which ended on January 1.
Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union walked out for 28 days in a dispute over the role of guards.
Now SWR has warned that, even though the strike is over, passengers can expect delays as a new amended timetable would continue for two more days for safety reasons.
There are expected to be further late arrival and departures over the weekend because of engineering work.
Last year, nearly two hundred passengers used the train station at Frome, either on the line heading to the south west coast, or to make the connection to London via Westbury.
Live train arrivals and details are on the Frome Nub News site, on the button on the far right hand side.
