Frome Skatepark Project - a community group raising funds for a new skatepark in Frome - is "excited to announce" a Skate Jam at Victoria Park on Saturday, 28 September, from 1pm to 5pm.

The community event, organised in conjunction with Frome Town Council, kicks off a wider public consultation on Victoria Park, inviting local residents to share their ideas and visions for this vital public space.

Council staff will be on hand to talk to all park users, and there will be garden games and fun activities to keep children busy while you chat.

Further activities are planned in Victoria Park as part of the consultation.

The event promises a day of excitement and fun for the entire family, with best trick competitions and music creating an energetic atmosphere.

All wheeled sports enthusiasts, including skateboarders, roller skaters, scooter riders, and BMX bikers, are welcome to join in the activities.

The Skate Jam is open to all ages and abilities, encouraging everyone to take part, whether you're a seasoned pro or a complete beginner.

Ed Bucklow, 18, one of the founders of Frome Skatepark Project said: "Frome is in desperate need of a new skatepark, and we can't wait to canvas opinion on our proposals for Frome skatepark from Frome's wheeled sports community.

"The skate jam promises to be a great day, and I encourage everyone who uses the park, or wants to see the facilities improved to come along, have some fun – and most importantly – have your say!"
