Welcome back to our lovely customers : That was the message from the team at the Blue Boar and it seems that the regulars couldn't wait to come back too.

"We had people waiting outside when we opened the doors, " barmaid Dani Francis told Nub News. " And we have been non stop ever since. Everyone is really happy and really cheerful, and it is so nice to see everyone."

Landlady Susan Hartland, who has been in charge of The Blue Boar for 25 years, said: " We are open and we are doing well. We won't be opening late on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. But we will open every day at 10 o'clock in the morning.

" I think there will be a few regulars that are a bit hesitant about coming back but we have done everything we can to protect them in every way we can. Everyone is welcome back."

The pub which has also undergone a renovation during lockdown has social distancing measures imposed, perspex screens at the bar, sanitiser available and a strict cleaning rota. There is also a small seating area at the rear of the pub, and a strict no standing at the bar rule.

" Everyone will be welcome to come and see us, and we will do the best we can to keep them safe."
