The council has responded to concerns that some more parking space is due to be lost in the town.

With parking spaces at a premium in Frome, an auction in late July has angered residents in the Trinity area of the town because it could lead to even fewer spaces.

The space at the top of Sun Street is listed for auction on the property portal Rightmove and offers development potential of two semi detached homes.

Peter Wheelhouse from Frome Town Council said: "We're thankful for residents for getting in touch regarding the sale of this land. We are currently assisting residents with a fact finding exercise around the situation."

The space, which has a guide price of £25,000 currently has spaces for up to six cars.

Resident Beverly Jones told Nub News : " Parking in the Trinity area is already horrendous. Where will the cars who currently park there go? There is no parking on Whittox Lane and Sun Street. Onto our already congested narrow streets in the Trinity area with insufficient parking already?"

They contacted Frome Town Council hoping that there is a possibility of the car park becoming a community asset.
