To say thank you for the £30m raised for good causes every week by players, The National Lottery is offering free entry and special offers at a range of National Lottery funded venues across the UK as part of The National Lottery Open Week.

The Roman Baths, Fashion Museum and Victoria Art Gallery in Bath will offer free admission for National Lottery players on Thursday 24 March.

Visitors should show their National Lottery ticket (physical or digital), scratchcard, or Instant Win Game at the ticket desk on arrival. The offer is available to walk-up customers only and can't be used when pre-booking.

Councillor Dine Romero, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, Communities and Culture at Bath & North East Somerset Council, said: "We've been fortunate to receive National Lottery funding for the soon-to-open Roman Baths Clore Learning Centre and Bath World Heritage Centre, the new Roman Gym area of the Roman Baths, and the purchase of Grayson Perry's Posh Art for the Victoria Art Gallery. It's great to be able to thank National Lottery players by offering them free admission to our museums for a day."

Opening this spring, the Roman Baths Clore Learning Centre is a new, state-of-the-art Learning Centre at the Roman Baths. A former Victorian spa laundry building, along with an area of Roman remains beneath street level, has been sensitively renovated to create a new Learning Centre that will allow pre-booked school and community groups to learn about history and heritage in a hands-on and accessible way.

A highlight of the Clore Learning Centre is a pioneering new learning space called the Investigation Zone – an atmospheric underground environment set amidst real Roman remains. Here, school children will be able to explore, investigate and record archaeological materials in a hands-on way, becoming mini-archaeologists and mini-curators as they participate in learning sessions amongst real Roman archaeology.

The Bath World Heritage Centre, also due to open this spring, will celebrate Bath's unique cultural offering as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and give visitors and residents an insight into what makes the city so special. The Centre will feature a host of interactive exhibits and displays designed to inspire, excite and inform. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and help people make the most of their visit. There will be a free app, walking trails and guides to help visitors to the city explore all it has to offer.

The Victoria Art Gallery purchased Grayson Perry's Posh Art in 2018 with the help of a National Lottery grant. The acquisition was complemented by an exciting programme of events and activities designed to widen the Gallery's audience, including bespoke activities for people with learning difficulties and young carers.

Darren Henley OBE, Chief Executive of Arts Council England and Chair of the National Lottery Forum, said: "The National Lottery Open Week is a fantastic opportunity for hundreds of venues and projects across the UK to say thanks to players who raise £30 million each week for Good Causes. The UK is world-renowned for its rich and vibrant culture, and with so many incredible sites across sport, heritage, film, community and the arts sectors taking part in Open Week this year, National Lottery players are spoilt for choice when it comes to a great day out."
