Sexey’s School GCSE Results : Students should be very proud say the school

Well done you all

Congratulations to Year 11 at Sexey's School who have shown great resilience navigating the last five years of secondary education, with two years affected by the pandemic, school closures and online learning.

We are proud of how these young people have demonstrated the schools core values of Respect, Resilience, Empathy, Honesty, Courage, Forgiveness, Kindness and shown true determination in their GCSE exams.

We celebrate all student successes and are proud of all our students achievement this year. The highest attaining students of this cohort are:

•        Milla Moberly who gained five Grade 9's, one Grade 8, two Grade 7's and one Grade 6

•        Hannah Maude who gained two Grade 9's, seven Grade 8's and one Grade 7

•        Josh Pierson who gained three Grade 9's, three Grade 8's, three Grade 7's and a Grade 6

•        Isabelle Stevens who gained one Grade 9, five Grade 8's and three Grade 7's

•        Dan Saxton who gained four Grade 9's, one Grade 8, two Grade7's, one Grade 6 and one Grade 5.

These young people will all now progress onto A level courses, three of them will be joining Sexey's Sixth Form.

We also celebrate those students who have made the most progress academically since joining Sexey's School, this is based on progress from KS2 results to GCSE results and this year we congratulate the following students on their outstanding progress during their time with us:

•        Kiki Dunbar-Whittaker

•        Dixie Gerrad

•        Howie Breeze

Ross Dalzell, Deputy Head said "We are delighted that many of our Year 11s will be returning to join Sexey's Sixth Form in September together with a significant number of new students and we look forward to welcoming them and supporting them on their A Level courses."

Helen Cullen, Headteacher said "My thanks go to the staff who have supported these young people and inspired them with their high-quality teaching and learning that has enabled these students to get the results they deserve. Strong teaching, hard work and commitment by both staff and students enables our students to achieve the results that will open the doors to the next part of their journey of lifelong learning. To those returning and joining Sexey's Sixth Form we look forward to seeing you in September and to those moving to new Post 16 providers, we wish you every success and happiness."

Chrysta Garnett, CEO of the Quantock Education Trust, says, "Well done to the Year 11s collecting their results today. They should be very proud of these outcomes, which will set them up very well for their next steps. Thank you to Helen Cullen and her staff for creating such an inspiring and supportive learning environment for our students. It is wonderful to see so many students continuing their education at Sexey's Sixth Form."
