Everyone is invited to attend this year's Annual Town Meeting, which is taking place at Frome Town Hall on Wednesday 3rd April, at 7pm. This year, the meeting features a new 'three-minute pitch' section – a chance for anyone to share an idea for something they'd like to do or see in Frome, in three minutes or less.

Traditionally the meeting is held by the Mayor on behalf of the town, and is an opportunity to celebrate some of the fantastic projects that are going on in Frome. Community groups and organisations share updates on their year and the event culminates with the presentation of the Mayor's Civic Awards.

Frome's Mayor, Cllr Philip Campagna said, "The Annual Town Meeting is the perfect place to celebrate all the wonderful projects that have taken place throughout the town.

"Community groups, organisations and individuals who work tirelessly to make things better in Frome are recognised, as I approach the end of my year as your mayor. I will also be announcing this year's Civic Awards, which are given to local people who have made a positive difference to Frome and its community. Please do come along and join us for music, refreshments, and a celebration of our town."

Another important element of the Annual Town Meeting is an opportunity to ask questions of the council.

A new addition for 2024 is an opportunity for residents to 'pitch' a big idea to the meeting, gauge the response and build connections to make it happen.

Philip goes on to say "It could be a speech, a film, a presentation – however you'd like to share your big idea with the town.

"This is your three-minute opportunity to help move your idea forward and gain support.

"There will then be an opportunity to have some food, mingle and chat to others who might support your idea. If you have something you would like to share, then please get in touch."

The meeting is open to everyone and is a chance for residents to ask questions and share their thoughts with local councillors. If you have a question, or would like to present your big idea to the Annual Town Meeting, email Frome Town Council by Thursday 28th March at [email protected].
