In less than one day a petition calling for the lowering of the speed limit where two sisters were killed in a car crash on the outskirts of Frome has been signed by over 1,200 .

The petition HERE shows the depth of feeling about the terrible crash on Tuesday (July 25) night on which killed two young girls. The driver of the other car is reportedly still in a critical condition.

The crash happened along the A361 which is currently set with a speed limit of 60mph Sadly it was not the first people have been killed pulling out into the fast-moving traffic.

But now the campaign to make the road junction a bit safer is really gaining momentum because of the double tragedy.

The organiser of the petition - which will be sent to Somerset Council said: " This clearly shows there's some serious public interest in reducing the speed limit on the A361.

"The council should consider reducing the speed limit from 60 to 40mph or introducing a roundabout at the junction."
