Where is Frome's wanted man - and how did he escape?
Questions are being asked after a wanted man escaped, apparently into the drains, in the centre of Frome, thwarting attempts of the police to arrest him.
Police had released a photo of James Tallon earlier this week and asked for the public's help in finding his whereabouts as he is wanted in connection with a local burglary. He was spotted near the central Cheese & Grain at lunchtime on Saturday, but has apparently managed to escape.
In a Nub News exclusive an eyewitness said: " The whole sequence was unreal like something from a film.Police had cornered him in from the bridge that leads from Cheese & Grain car park to the shopping precinct and behind the Riverhouse Cafe. But then he disappeared."
The Nub News eyewitness said they were told by a police officer that the only way he could escape was by going underground, as they had all escape routes covered. They also had the police helicopter in the air to try and spot him in the streets.The public are currently being told that he is still at large and not to approach him. as he may have a weapon.
