Socially distanced squares are put to the test

Socially distanced squares have been painted in two Frome parks to allow users to enjoy the green spaces safely.

However today when Nub News went up to check on the squares no one seemed to be using them.

So a big thank you to Kate and Mair Haines for helping show us the markings in the grass next to the band stand in Victoria Park.

Frome Town Council who have put the squares in reported: " With the summer holidays now upon us, we want everyone to enjoy our parks and open spaces safely.

To help with social distancing we've painted shapes on the grass at Victoria Park and Mary Baily - whether it's a picnic or game of rounders, it's easy to have fun at a safe distance."

For Kate and Mair the squares were fun, but not something they would be using.

Kate said: " I don't think it is going to work, but at least they are trying. I just don't think people are going to use them. It is good to remind people of the social distancing but I think people are so fed up now of the whole thing. They are just thinking 'whatever'."
