Somerton is gearing up for its annual Music and Arts Festival set to take place from 4 to 14 July.

The event will kick off with a performance by tribute band Fleetwood Bac at St Michael's Church and will wrap up with the two-day Somerstock music festival, featuring a lineup filled with exciting performances.

Before the festival gets underway, the regular Arts Exhibition will open its doors on 25 May in the Parish Room, setting the stage for a summer filled with culture and entertainment.

This year's headline act is none other than the jazz-funk legends Shakatak, a band renowned for their energetic live shows. Festivalgoers can look forward to a mix of live music, on-site parking, and camping options, making it a perfect getaway for music lovers.

The festival begins on 12 July with an evening of live performances from 6 pm to 11 pm, featuring the Charlie Miller Band and supporting acts such as Twisted Vinyl and Florence & The Bare Souls.

The lineup for Saturday includes over ten acts like Matt Owens and Harri Pick, playing across two outdoor stages and a big top marquee from 1 pm until 11.15 pm.

In addition to the musical entertainment, there will be children's activities, retail stalls, and food and drink options to ensure there's something for everyone. A silent disco will also be part of the festivities, with sessions for both adults and children.

Tickets for the festival are now on sale, offering various options including a family ticket with great value, and free admission for children under 12. Prospective attendees are advised to book early to secure the best prices.
