Best selling and hugely loved children's author Michael Rosen has another super fan - US !

He replied on social media when Frome Nub News posted a photo of the long queues into the Cheese & Grain, saying how popular he was and how we had not seen this many people since the Beatle played a pre-Glastonbury set in Frome.

We quipped that the last time queues of that kind of number had been lined up it was for the likes of for Paul McCartney.

He replied on Twitter: " Thanks very much. (I did 'meet' Paul McCartney for five seconds once. I was trying to get past him to record Allen Ginsberg. He was carrying his guitar. I said, 'You can play that, can't you?' He called out to Linda. 'See Linda! Someone thinks I can play this thing.')

Frome Nub News had hoped to interview the We're Going On Bear hunt author, but the hall was rammed (for two shows) and there were literally hundreds of children (and some parents) hoping to get him to sign their books.

Seventy seven year old Mr Rosen is the author of 140 books of poetry and prose, and a former Children's Laureate. He also writes a monthly open "letter" to the Secretary of State for Education where he critiques Government policy on schools from the standpoint of a parent.

Next time Mr Rosen ? It will be a beautiful day and we are not scared.
