Ten out of ten wins for Frome Town FC
It was the tenth win in a row up at Frome Town FC when they tackled the Devon side Barnstaple. Ten out of ten might be a top score, but it was the nine goals that really counted.
The Robins were on hot form, even as the temperatures continued to drop and a fog started to fall at the ground.
Kane Simpson, scored four of the nine goals, and was named man of the match, but it was a team effort with nifty footwork from the likes of Jack Whitcombe and firm Frome favourite Jon Davies.
The goals came thick and fast, with three of the goals from Frome's Number 9 Simpson, at 28 minutes, 29 minutes and then, after a long wait, at 31 minutes, leading the commentator to quip he hadn't had time to put down his pen.
Frome went into half time 5: 1 and could have been forgiven for coming back on with less than a full tank.
But they were still full of energy right until the final whistle, pushed on perhaps by a second goal from Barnstable, who, apart from one skirmish, kept up the pressure even as the game slipped away.
Frome are now top of the table.
The official attendance was 324, with goals from Kane Simpson 4, Monks (x2), Lenihan, Witcombe and Davies.
