On Friday night the Frome RFC U14s headed to Bristol to take on Ashley Down RFC under the lights.

The boys took to the game with a fantastic team spirit, Harry Osborne was put in for an early Try.

The score remained 0-5 with Frome holding possession and working well in defence. Fabian Dixon was making some strong breaks, whilst Alex Harris was winning possession in the rucks supported by Finn Malloy, Joey White worked quickly at every breakdown with Harvey Norris there at every turn.

With 5mins remaking before half time, Ashley Down slipped through the line with great speed to score their first try, adding the conversion.

With the Second Half kicking off Frome unfortunately made the same mistake and another try slipped through.

Frome came back with fighting spirit and a well deserved Try from Mason Bullus with support from the lads. Elliot Wood kicked through a fantastic conversion from a tricky angle.

Frome kept up the team work putting in good pressure and commitment but again Ashley Down broke through again, with the score now 19-12.

Both teams working hard put in a another try each, Harry Osborne made the Try, another great kick from Elliot unfortunately just missing out.

Final score 24-17 Frome came away with a great sense of achievement. Despite the loss, the game play was one to be proud of with just a couple of mistakes to work on.
