It has been confirmed - Poundland is taking on this empty retail premises in The Westway Frome opposite Peacocks.

They have advertised for lead jobs including Store Manager and Clothing Department Manager.

The company which started in one store in Burton-upon-Trent in 1990 now has more than 850 shops across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. They are part of a bigger group in Europe called Pepco which has 3,000 stores in 17 territories serving 50 million shoppers.

M&Co shut up shop in Frome in August 2020, and then in April 2021 the space was taken up by the Rotary charity shop, which then shut at the end of May. It raised thousands for charity during what it called an "amazing two and a half years."

It was a joint effort by the local Rotary Clubs of Frome Rotary Frome Town Rotary Frome Selwood Rotary and Inner Wheel, and there are rumours that the former Co-op and Post Office next door in The Westway, could possibly re-open as their new home.

It is not yet known when the Poundland will start operating but Nub News understands that they now do have ownership of the space so expect conversion works shortly.
