The Robins donate over £1,200 to Fair Frome

Frome Town FC, aka the Robins have donated a big sum to the community food action group Fair Frome.

The money was partly collected by way of fans who had bought tickets to the car prize draw, but when that went wrong and the were offered a refund, insisted the money still be donated to the intended charity.

The club posted: " Much has been said in the news and across social media since our win. a car opportunity didn't quite work out the way we hoped or planned. However, what we saw following the closure of competition was truly wonderful. "

The club said it was really heartened by the number of fans, who having bought a ticket, and then contacted about a refund, telling Frome FC to keep the money.

The additional money raised came from the supporters of the Crowdfunder 'Donate to Frome', which saw nearly £1,000 pledged back to the club. In total the club donated £1,223.

Meantime the club continues its winning streak and some record breaking gate numbers.

This past Saturday (October 30) Frome came from behind to register a memorable 3-2 win against Poole Town in the Third Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy at Badgers Hill.

Watching the game over 400 spectators and the team now move into second place in the table. Their next match is Tuesday this week against Barnstaple Town at 19:45 .
