Three fire crews were called to a flat in Frome last night (June 1) after some curtains caught fire.

The Fire Service were called to a report of smoke coming from a window of a property in Great Western Street just before 7pm.

One fire engine from Frome, one from Warminster and one from Shepton Mallet attended, and on arrival crews confirmed there was smoke coming from a second floor window and got to work investigating further wearing breathing apparatus.

The fire was located within the lounge of a flat on the second floor involving the curtains, and it was extinguished using one hose reel jet and one safety jet. There was slight fire damage to the property.
