A group of 11 supporters of Frome based cancer charity We Hear You (WHY) have raised more than £12,000 by climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mount Snowdon in a single weekend in June.

The Three Peaks challenge requires participants to climb three mountains in three countries in 48 hours, only pausing to travel between them. Team member Lindsay Mundy said:

"Nothing can prepare you for how difficult this challenge is. It batters you both physically and mentally in a way I never imagined possible. I'm not often lost for words or overwhelmed, but I have no words to say how thankful I am to each and every person who has sponsored."

Fundraising and Communications Manager Gemma Wilkes said

"The Three Peaks is an intense challenge, but also a fantastic one – I speak from personal experience, having done it myself in 2018! We've had lots of people taking part over the last few years. This year's team included our own Volunteer Coordinator Lottie and lots of our brilliant supporters from the Street and Glastonbury area. Due to the pandemic this team have had to cope with a lot of uncertainty and delays, so we're extra proud that they smashed it and so delighted by their amazing fundraising total. Our fundraising has taken a huge hit during the pandemic and it feels great to be back!
