The second in the Frome Town Council online meetings regarding the proposals for Selwood Garden Community takes place this Wednesday (21) at 7pm.

This will be the opportunity for you to offer your views on the development which could see 1700 new homes being built.

In February 2018 the Selwood Garden Village proposal was made public. It was a response to the Mendip District Council Local Plan Part 2 Consultation which suggested that Frome needed a further 2,200 homes and these should be sited to the south of the town, below Keyford on the southern slopes of the town. The scheme also includes business allocations and a community hub. It was submitted by the 'South Frome Consortium', a group of landowners, and consultants.

Over time the proposals have been revised but are still expected to include 1,700 homes with building work due by the end of 2020 and all work to be completed by 2023.

You need to register in advance before 4pm today (October 20) to take part in the on line discussions. You can do that by clicking HERE: the Zoom site
