There are new rail strikes planned for next month with the drivers out on the following dates on the following lines:

Wednesday 6 December on SWR main line and SWR depot drivers

Thursday 7 December GWR

The strike, by ASLEF has now been going on for a year and a half, with not much sign of any progress. The union say drivers haven't had a pay increase since 2019 and that an offer of four per cent made in April was simply not good enough.

Rail workers in the RMT union are currently voting on whether to accept a deal in their dispute over pay, job security and working conditions.

That vote closes on 30 November, the day before Aslef's new industrial action begins.
