Frome's recent outdoor events on the Ecos amphitheatre continue into September with a newly confirmed performance by The Unravelling Wilburys on Saturday September 5th.

The Unravelling Wilburys originated in the Frome area in 2016 and featured members of the highly successful Beatles tribute Sgt. Pepper's Only Dart Board Band. Celebrating and emulating the music of super-group The Traveling Wilburys, the band not only features the best of the two Wilbury albums, but classic tracks by each member, namely Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Roy Orbison and Jeff Lynne from ELO.

Martin Dimery, better known as Director of the Frome Festival and Somerset County Council Green Party Councillor for Frome East plays "Sticky Willy Wilbury", and is delighted to be playing live again after a 6 month absence due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

Disguised as a Nashville country band, from whom the Traveling Wilburys allegedly stole their act, the Unravelling Wilbury's present their act with an uplifting tongue-in-cheek comedy that has proved hugely popular at venues throughout the UK from Penzance to Orkney.

In the event of bad weather, the concert, which is a fundraising event to help keep the Merlin theatre open throughout the limited-audience measures currently enforced throughout the country, will be allowed into the Merlin Theatre auditorium buidling under safe distancing seating measures. The show will begin at 7 pm and run for 1 hour 15 minutes. Tickets are available online at www.merlintheatre.co.uk

Due current health regulations, booking is essential and all tickets must be purchased in advance; face-coverings will need to be worn if the show moves inside.
