The government is no longer asking people to work from home and masks are no longer compulsory in secondary school classrooms.

From today (Thursday 27 January)

  • Covid passes will no longer be compulsory to gain entry to venues and events
  • face masks will no longer be compulsory in any public spaces - although they will be still be "recommended" in some places
  • restrictions on visits to care homes will be eased.

Earlier this week Frome College issued its own guidance saying that it strongly recommends that students continue to wear face coverings in classrooms this week and students must wear face coverings in communal areas: student reception, entering the dining hall and in assemblies.

The college also plans on moving out of 'bubbles' on Monday 31st January. This means that:

  • All students start their college day at 8.45
  • All students finish their college day at 3pm
  • All students have break at 11.00 and lunch at 1.30.
  • However the changing rooms still remain closed for the next couple of weeks so on the days students have PE please come to college in PE uniform

The College is also really pleased to announce that it will resume lunch time and after college clubs and activities.

Meantime Sainsbury's, John Lewis and Waitrose will continue to ask customers in England to wear masks in their shops when Plan B rules end .
