Something fishy was afoot in Frome Schools as Captain Pemburthy docked to land at

St John's First School and Trinity First School.

Both schools were treated to a fantastic production of The Sea Show by Squashbox Theatre Company. The show was filled with stories of the sea as well as lots of surprises.

Squashbox Theatre is run by Craig Johnson who has performed and toured with companies such as Wise Children and Kneehigh.

As well as a show packed with puppets, live music and action there was also a surprise visitor waiting for children on the playground in the form of Brian the Pig. Families loved greeting Brian who did some rummaging for extra snacks. One parent said "what a lovely way to start the day. It's put a big smile on my face!"

These events are part of Plays in the Playground run by Make the Sunshine and made possible through support from Frome Town Council.

In the coming weeks both schools will be joining together with Rowden House Care Home and Critchill Court Residential Home for shared tea parties celebrating friendships built up during the last two years between schools and local care homes as part of The Happiness Hunt Project.

Make the Sunshine is a not for profit Community Interest Company focussed on building community engagement through performing arts and ensuring all young people have access to creative opportunities and the life-changing impact these can have. Make the Sunshine runs Plays in the Playground, Window Wanderland, All the World's Our Playground and many other local initiatives. For more information visit makethesunshine.co.uk
